Looking for an off campus apartment? It’s not too late to find the perfect place for you and your friends. Finding an apartment is a very stressful and tiring process, but the hard work will be worth it in the long run.
Hundreds of search engines have been designed to search for apartments in your area. Sites like craigslist are the ideal place to get an idea about what’s available. If you haven’t spent a minimum of four hours checking out the locations than you need to keep looking.
Figure out your Priorities
What’s the most important thing in your apartment? Do you need pets to be allowed, would you prefer a gas stove to an electric stove, or do you have to have 4 bedrooms? Figuring out the most important factors will help you narrow down your results. Make sure you check with your roommates to see if they agree with your priorities as well.
Check Every Apartment Out
Don’t sign anything until you’ve seen the apartment in person. Make sure that the listing isn’t a hoax and that the apartment is actually as nice as the photos make it appear to be. And check for more major issues in the apartment as you tour.
Keep looking
Even after you narrow down your results there will probably be a lot of options left, but don’t get discouraged. Different apartments become available everyday, and eventually you will find an option that works well for you. It may be stressful, but just stay focused.
