What your dorm Needs: A Fitness Room

Imagine this – It’s below freezing outside. The wind has been nipping at your nose all day long as you half ran to all of your classes. You were bundled up, wrapped in 3 different layers of clothing, but you still found yourself shivering at the beginning of each lecture.

Now you’re nestled in your dorm with all of your creature comforts, and for the first time since you woke up, you feel toasty, warm, and comfy. You never want to leave your dorm again. Except, you haven’t been to the gym yet today, and you didn’t go yesterday either.

The gym is eight blocks away. Eight toe-numbingly cold blocks away. You know you’ll survive the journey, especially if you run, but you really don’t want to.

So you don’t. What’s one more day off in the grand scheme of things? It’s not going to destroy your workout routine.

Or is it?

The weather doesn’t seem like much of a deterrent when you first start working out, but it’s the most convenient excuse in the book. Before you know it two days off turns into two weeks, and in a blink of an eye an entire season has passed in which you hardly went to the gym.

That’s why you need a dorm with a fitness room is the best residence hall.

So even if it’s 108 degrees outside and even if it’s raining cats and dogs you can still go to the gym without taking a single step outside. All you have to do is get on the elevator or take one flight of stairs and you’ll be in the fitness area.

You also never have to worry about being too sweaty for classes. Your room is just up one (okay maybe five) flight(s) of stairs; you don’t have to carry a change of clothes with you or shower in the locker room.

Wouldn’t that be nice?
