What Your Dorm Needs: The Game Lounge

A room with a Ping-Pong table, pool table, big-screen TV, and a comfortable couch doesn’t sound all that important in the grand scheme of things. With all your homework, how much time will you actually spend in there anyway?

However, there are definite benefits to living in a residence hall with a real nice gaming room. You won’t regret the decision.

Escape your Roommate

If your roommate doesn’t get along with your friends or prefers to go to bed really early, a game room is the perfect place for you to hang out. You can bring your friends there to socialize or you can just go hang out with a group of students already there. Either way it’s a great way to get some space from you roommate.

Free Entertainment

Game rooms are a great way to have and save some money. No one can afford to go out every single night of the week, but you don’t have to pay to hang out in the game. It’s the perfect place to kick back with your friends and have a good time.

Game Time

Since that large screen TV you wanted wouldn’t fit in you dorm, where are you going to watch the big game every Sunday? In my residence hall, we would all gather in the game room every Sunday to watch the Eagles together. We’d all throw in a little money for a few snacks, and spend the whole day watching football and joking around.

Movie Night

If you’re not into sports, grab a DVD player, rent a movie, and invite the whole floor to watch it with you. You’ll meet new people and get a better picture than you would on your laptop.
